Hello everybody! Once again welcome to the web page of the Sullivan family as we continue to travel South America. For some of you, I'm sure you've noticed that I've been a little slack on updating my page these last few months, sorry about that! To tell the truth, it isn't that nothing exciting has happened, it is that we have been so amazingly busy that I just haven't had the time.
I've done some remodeling on this page; I'd recommend going to the photo gallery first, and then following the links beneath the pictures to read stories about the pictures. Then, you can jump back and forth in between the story page and the photo page.
If you'd like to see our previous adventures, please follow the bottom link. The other links allow you to see pictures and read stories of our latest adventure; Salta, Argentina. As well, I will be keeping everyone informed of the newest developments as we begin our trek from Argentina to Ecuador, and then to the US.
A quick synopsis of everything:
The wish of our family at the start of 2008 was to move to South America, buy a bigger farm for less money, and begin making cheese again. Mom and dad have been traveling for a year now, the whole family about 7 months. I, Hannah, am telling this story, so I can't really say much about the first few months of 2008. My story starts the beginning of June, when we landed in Santiago, Chile. We then spent about a month staying with a sweet Chilean family who helped us hunt for land. Then, a grueling trip by bus from the south of Chile to the north of Argentina, Salta to be exact. We arrived in Salta during the month of July, and for two months stayed in the house of a family from Holland. Land hunting continued, with no success. We changed houses in September, I think, and Aftie and I started school by internet through a program called Keystone National High School. Spanish lessons with Claudia helped immensely, and I can now say that understanding spanish is not impossible anymore! Beautiful holiday season with friends; a christmas tree of tape stuck to a wall. Now, three of four of the family are off to Peru.
